Hi! I’m Melanie, illustrator, animator and designer working in children‘s publishing, editorial and for websites.

I love to experiment with traditional materials, but in the end my work is mostly a combination of analoge and digital techniques.
I find inspiration in nature, dreams, mystic figures and the quirkyness of everyday life, as well as in other art forms, crafts, photography, pottery and music.

I am based in Vienna, but have the luxury to spend a lot of time in a small village in Uganda where there is an abundance of mangos, kind people and inspiration for my drawings.

Whenever I‘m not at my drawing desk I’m most likely tending to my herb garden, cuddling with my dogs, drinking tea with a friend, dancing while cooking, taking long walks in nature or baking sourdough bread.
